First Impression {3/5}:
I love the multiple scroll menus, but that background isn't looking too appealing right now.

Just out of curiosity, what is there in South Africa? I have always wanted to go to Australia though. But to take up and move to Africa, I just have to ask why?
I read about 10 entries. They seemed to be filled with hopes and dreams. She knows what she wants, but her parents are holding her down. She seems like such a sweet girl, and at times through out her diary, I just wanted to hug her, letting her know that all was going to be alright.
Some of her entries were really wordy though, and at times that drove me nuts. Explaining every single detail of every single situation.
Layout {5/15}:
This layout seems badly put together. That dark blue background color with the black background isn't working. The images you have of those people throughout the entire layout is a little creepy. The text is too big, and I totally dislike when the visited link turns a different color then what is used to be. It makes the entire row of links so uneven. And what's up with that lime green text at the bottom? Did you want to give your readers a headache when they read that?
My suggestion is just use one image in your layout, and work with that, and the quote you have on top. Give it a lighter color for the background, make the text a little bit smaller (the color is fine though), and leave your main background color just one solid color, instead of the mass attack of weird images.
Organization, Updates & Errors {2/10}:
Organization: The layout is organized, especially with those drop down menus, but the background makes the entire layout look so busy and so unorganized though. And please archives those older entries! That page seemed to go on forever.{-4}
Updates: Every once in a while in October. {-3}
