Credit J Designs. White background, baby blue borders, links, and text. Older page matches. Guestbook credit to Blue-Swirl, darker blue and creme colors.
The colors work well together. I like how you have the total # of entries next to each archived month. The layout is fine as is...but...
There are too many links. I used to have a layout similar to this, and that was always the reviewers complaints...and now I see why. There's so much to do here but it's a little overwhelming.
You have previous and next links three times...above entry, below entry, and on the side bar = overkill. Dropdown menus would make it less cluttered, or condensing the links onto a few pages would clean everything up. Maybe put all your contacts on one page, all your surveys and quizzes and stuff on another page, etc. Check out my diary...you can see how dropdown menus make all the difference. You still have the links on the main page, but they are nicely tucked away from view until needed.
For some reason having the headers below the links doesn't look right to me. Usually there's the header and then the links follow. Just a note.

The first entry I read was this one, and I'm hoping it gets better. Nothing personal, but the slang gets under my skin. Your second line, Okie doke, lol I just got some major signage in my gbook, like tru dat and all that good stuff has me thinking this is going to be a hard diary to review.
From that entry to this one, so far I really don't see a lot of emotion. You talk a lot about your friends, this one did or didn't call, this one is or isn't online, etc.
Okay, making progress. This one was perfect. Full of emotion, insight, very honest and up front. As well as the one after. This is what I feel a diary should be about. You obviously have a beautiful writing style...when you want to. Father's Day was yet another good one. The 335 questions...a little much. I can hardly get through those 100 things! As for what you said about reviews, I do the same thing.

Take off the previous and next links on your archive page, you don't need them there...and in fact they don't work from there.
One other thing that slightly bothered me as a reviewer...you mentioned getting a review done here, but I don't see that on your reviews page. Do you remove the link once complete?

Links are sorted on the main template and it's archived nicely. Like I said under layout though, it's a little much.

Again, a little much all on the main template...

What I thought of the diary?
Sometimes you write daylogs or really short entries about what you updated around the site. Other times you only talk about your friends like I said earlier. And yet other times, you come out with these long meaningful and deep entries...problem is, they are a little rare.
I'd love to see you write with more emotion. It's obvious you have a lot of talent writing and expressing how you feel, but it's a real shame you don't do it often.
